How about just universal healthcare, housing, and education?
Maybe they should have spent the money on fusion research first. They could have had nearly free power, and make a fortune selling off the rest, all while saving the climate.

Its funny, we dont fund all these things because they’re “good enough” to work. And the reason we’re dumping lumps into AI is because it doesn’t even do “good enough” right now but there’s a lot of people that expected it to already.
These things dont get funded because they dont make enough (or are not expected to make enough) money
What’s the total amount given to AI in a year? I’m curious how many decades we could solve world hunger, provide free healthcare for the planet, AND make advancements in renewable energy.
