  • It was less obvious because the world was less connected and not everyone had a high quality video camera in their pocket.

The media could also be relied upon to edit in a favourable manner. That’s still the case today, but he can’t get away from the fact that every time he shows up, people film him, because he’s always going to say something stupid. The idea that he might manage to have a normal day and not say something insanely dumb, is just inconceivable.

  • I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong in simplifying a subject and allowing that simplified answer to be the one the public knows

I think it’s acceptable to simply say that magnets of the same polarity repel each other, and not going to the explanation as to why. It’s up to people if they want to understand that, and they can seek that information out themselves.

Also I think it’s perfectly acceptable to explain gravity as a force that pulls things down. Trying to go into the whole area of space time and light cones is unnecessary for the casual explanation.

I would not think any less of a political leader if their understanding of magnets was simply the basic one that everybody else knows. But I absolutely would think less of my leader if he appeared not to even have a high school level understanding of magnetism. It would make me worry about what other things everybody else knows, that apparently he does not.

  • I generally get more coherent sentences out of just repeatedly tapping my keyboard on my phone and letting auto correct just make things up…

The thing about Trump is the point of the world cup method of the world cup method of the game for the purposes of the world cup method of the world cup method of the world cup method of the league of the league of the league of the year and the company is a good idea for a while and I don’t think so but I don’t think.

Yeah, maybe not. But honestly it’s close.

  • They would probably like communism, or at least not object to it too much. Communalism has a lot of opinions on how people need to conform, and they seem very keen on people conforming. The only real difference between the GOP and communism is that they disagree with where all the money should go. But if you have to pick a regime to live under, it’s basically a coin flip.

They both take from the poor, it’s just who gets the money that’s different, which would make virtually no difference to 99% of people.

  • A persons inability to differentiate between slightly progressive policies and communism, is a gigantic blood red flag indicating that they are a trash person and not worth talking to.

The most fair but unfavourable (according to them) interpretation of his policies would be socialist, to be a communist he would have to have been a dictator who seized power with force rather than democratically elected. But honestly it’s debatable about whether or not the policies he is proposing go far enough to really be in the realm of socialist. It’s basically just left wing progressive.

If it weren’t for the fact that he was American no one would be batting an eye. Come to Europe and say those things and everyone would be “well yeah, obviously”.

  • Personally I wouldn’t call the MacBook air good value for money. It’s not a bad computer but it’s very expensive for the specs you get. You’re basically paying for it to be very thin and really it’s no more portable than the normal MacBook because when you think about it obviously it isn’t because if the MacBook wasn’t portable it would be a mini desktop.

  • I used to work in Apple tech support and trust me the people who buy iPhones are the least tech savvy people in the world. People dwelling in caves in prehistory would have been more capable than your average Apple customer.

A good chunk of them found the concept of plugging your iPad in occasionally to be beyond comprehension. Also that their Wi-Fi didn’t have a 600 mile range and no it wouldn’t work if you were in a different country.

  • I’m so sick of this trend of trying to make the phone as thin as possible and then the camera bump has prominent as possible, completely negating any benefit. My partner would definitely like a thinner phone and would probably buy a phone that didn’t have the camera bump because it didn’t have any camers, if it meant a thinner phone that would actually fit in her pocket.

Either that or keep the camera bump and just thicken the whole phone out and give me a larger battery and the apparently too big to fit 3.5mm audio jack.
