  • Because people are scared. If you don’t show up to work and cite “General strike” or “political protest” as your reason, you won’t have a job when you return for 90% of people.

No job means no food and no home. SNAP/EBT are being cut so you can’t rely on the social safety net to survive. Being homeless means you’re free game to get snatched off the street and shipped to El Salvador in an unmarked van.

The average American is in a vise. Many federal workers now don’t have much left to lose because they aren’t being paid anyway, most everyone else is just trying to survive.

  • Hey I was that weirdo that down voted this, and I assure you it was by accident and I changed it now. I actually never got the chance to play Apocalypse and hot damn, I had no idea it was a whole sequel, I thought it was an expanded release in the same vein as a bunch of the Persona games have (P3->FES, P4->Golden, P5->Royal).

So, amending my statement, play SMTIV and then play Apoc.

Also, excuse me, I have some shopping I need to do.

  • Leave Pokémon behind, play some Shin Megami Tensei, thank me later.

There’s a pipeline of former Pokémon fans thinking “Huh, these games have kind of gone to crap, I wish I had this same monster-collector style game but with a real plot and interesting characters” and then SMTIV falls from the sky like manna from heaven unto them.

I don’t think IV is actually the best SMT game, I think that honor goes to Nocturne - which is available on the Switch - but SMTIV is a good showing of the series that is available for 3DS. If you have the option, pick up SMTIV-Apocalypse, it’s an expanded “GOTY-style” re-release of IV, but the base game is also fine.

  • I can enable or disable an individual credit card using an app on my phone in 30 seconds. A large proportion of my customers leave their cards locked by default and then unlock it for a minute when it’s time to pay for something. I promise you that a corporate account has something similar. You don’t need to call the bank and report fraud every time you do this, just disable the card from the customer control panel and then re-enable it when you get your invoices. This never needs to even involve a bank employee unless you really do have a real instance of fraud that you then need to backcharge.

Or, they just had to cook an entire new batch of fries for your “unsalted” order that you’re going to throw a bunch of salt on anyway. No maliciousness required, that takes time to cook. The two other people in line with you can just get a large fry shoveled out of the already existing batch of fries, you have to wait because you specifically requested them make a new batch of fries.

  • So every time there’s an unexplained payment on the card without an invoice, it gets flagged as fraud and the card gets frozen.

I bet you get maybe two instances of this before people start remembering to submit invoices. Make them wait two hours to clear and reactivate the card every time this happens.

You’re in Sri Lanka and your company card isn’t working? Damn that sucks, let me look into why. Oh, it looks like there’s an unexplained expense on the card that has been flagged for fraud and the card is not operable. Please submit an invoice for all company card expenses as soon as possible to avoid this in the future.
