A Twitter post by Swamp Witch Advice @SwampAdvice reads “Here is a secret about things you love. If you put them down you can always pick them back up again. You can always paint again, sew again, hike again, play music again, read that book again, watch the movie. “But it’s been so long.” The thing you love doesn’t care.”
The older I get the more things I’m realizing I will never revisit.
Same, I’ve got a bookcase that I look at and think “ooh yeah I’ll read that again one day” except new things get added to the list all the time and I’ve realised there a high chance I won’t ever read some of those books again.
like what?
Hell yeah.
I didn’t play saxophone for 28 years. Went full in again and I’m loving it. Any amount of joy you can grab is worth it.
I am in the exact same position with the sax, but haven’t picked it up again quite yet. I miss it like “the one that got away” but damn if your comment hasn’t gotten me to truly consider returning to it again.

My adhd disagrees
I have a rotation of hobbies. Usually stick with one between 3 months and a couple of years, before going back to another one I used to do. Sometimes, rarely, I add a new one, or try something out for a bit. I’d say I have 1-2 active hobbies and some 4-5 in cold storage.
Took this advice and texted my ex.
She did care, and has now blocked me.
Thanks for nothing /s
Um. Except play guitar again after arthritis has made fingers not work right anymore.
Time to step up your tongue game then
yeah, this meme is a lie. you hold onto stuff you love until it hurts too much to hold on any more.
