All anyone should have to say is “Factually uses AI to generate fact checks”. Which, to any thinking person, automatically implies that their fact checks are inevitably incorrect and should never be trusted.
Factually didn’t appear in front of your eyes on its own, you were of course led directly to Factually by one of the tech giants and their monopolistic and corrupt “search engines” which they are using for actively pushing their AI agenda with trillions of dollars at stake and that alone should be enough reason to mistrust anything they are showing you. Why would anyone knowingly use an AI to fact-check things? AI is exactly why I’m fact-checking things in the first place. Using known AI slop to fact-check something that is potentially AI slop is just adding another layer of untruthfulness and does not provide any useful value.
This is not the future of fact checking in any way. It is an intentional distraction from fact checking. It is an attempt to sabotage and undermine fact checking. It will not succeed. Many humans are dumb enough to fall for it, at least temporarily, but many are not, many are in open rebellion against it, and we will not let truth die. We will carry the truth with us, nurture it and protect it and collect it like the treasure it is with other like-minded thinking beings. There is no other fundamental meaning to life than the pursuit of truth, even if truth can never be directly attained in its entirety, the pursuit of even small pieces of the truth remain worthwhile endeavours. And as long as some of us can continue to think, we will not give up nor let go of whatever pieces of truth we can find. We will learn them, share them, and become stronger because of them.
