Well he is helping it along with the latest talking point that he is going to make X a subscription only platform, aka you must pay to play.

I dropped it when trump was spewing his bs on it. My feed was 90% Trump bs and re-posts. I actively dumped fb, twitter and a few others back in 2019 and My life has been so much better since then.
Like he cares. He bought it for money and political reasons. And now, because of piss poor decisions, the company has been devalued from $44 billion it is now only worth about $4 billion. What makes it so sad is a lot of online companies are following suit thinking they can do what he couldn’t.
You do realize that X is now it’s official name right? Elon changed the name to X and deprecated the twitter name. At the end of the domain registration, he is not going to re-register twitter.com as the domain name, and because he owns the trademark on it, he is going to sue anyone who tries to re-use the domain name.
It’s not a case of difficulty so much as it’s a case of a more rapid refund. When you mail in your return it can take up to 2 months to get your return, if you have one coming, where the online services such as TT & FreetaxUSA can get it directly in the it’s computer allowing for a more rapid refund
Most do but not all. Unfortunately there are people that only visit one or the other. I’m not saying it’s an issue, but it will be if we reach a point of having 10 or more of the same communities.
I agree, currently the fediverse is a wild frontier and we have new communities showing up constantly. However, we also don’t want to overburden users with a plethora of ,basically, duplicate communities. For example to my knowledge there are 2 asklemmy’s and 2 Linux communities that do the same thing, they are just on different instances. For now I think programming at this point should work to cover the basic principals of all programming aspects, if it gets too cluttered, then like mentioned already, we can start separating out the different languages.
Not sure about the other apps, but Memmy keeps your password stored in the app. But generally speaking I don’t think Gavin is a malicious person. He spent 3 weeks with beta tests before he was even comfortable pushing it to Apple App Store and the code is reviewed by Apple before being included to watch for malicious scripting. I am not saying people don’t get malicious scripts passed through Apple, but from what I have seen of Gavin’s work, he doesn’t seem the type that would do that.
Thanks. I will look into it today
Nothing wrong with that. When I see a re-post from X/twitter, or whatever he wants to name it in the future, I happily scroll right by it.
I say let him go bankrupt trying to save it.
