Seems to me you should go find the person/people the narcissist portrayed as villains when you first met. You may not become best friends, but it seems only fair to learn a little about who they really are.

“Heroin chic” is the fashion of looking starved and shadowed as if you’re a heroin addict.
“Heroine chick” is Supergirl
Very true, and already-attractive women started being told how pretty they were while they were younger so it became part of their identity and sense of self-worth. So they’re vulnerable to the fear of “losing their looks.”

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do residential property taxes go down if the housing market declines?
2·2 days agoWe had our condo re-appraised during the Great Recession to reflect the lower “current market value.” The rate per value remained the same but the tax bill went down. We had to pay the assessor, but iirc we went in with a group of people in our building and he charged a group rate since most of the work was duplicate.
Have tried that with a large group. I discovered that the one thing worse than having nobody show up to your party is having only one person show to witness the failure, to whom you don’t relate, and she’s on a diet and drove, so she can’t drink or help eat the overabundance of finger foods.

Maybe he forgot to THANK the turtle duck.
Thank you, turtle duck

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do Janitors on movie sets get upset for when a scene causes the actors to make a mess and they have to come and clean it up?
4·3 days agoThe British series “The Cleaner” and the Australian series “Mr. and Mrs. Murder” illustrate a bit of why it’s expensive and discuss a little about why their characters do that job. They’re comedy/mystery shows, so not completely realistic of course.
That’s a nice fucking website!

39·3 days agoBut to be clear it’s not “kill someone.”
“86 the ham” can mean “toss it in the garbage, it’s rotten.”
Or it can mean “Don’t take any orders for ham because we’re all out.”
Or if you just want toast but it’s past breakfast you could order “a ham sandwich on wheat toast, 86 the ham.”
It took me too long to notice he’s shirtless in the fourth panel and then I got stuck on how he got his tee off over that giant head. And then I wondered why his chest/shoulders are so much smaller naked. Although that part is kinda funny.
I agree with others, use vertical stacking on the speech bubbles in panels 3 and 4 and you’ll be okay for the conversation order.
That’s all you’re really expected to do, be a momentary observer along with thousands of others all over the place. We don’t have, and don’t want, enough cops to look everywhere. But if by chance that license plate is right in front of you in traffic, or that man and toddler who just did a complete change of clothes in the bathroom (not suspicious behavior in itself) were originally wearing clothes that matched the description, you can call the number on your phone. Normal custody battles don’t get elevated to an Amber alert.
But wouldn’t it have been amazing if you’d realized they were sitting in the same row as you, trying to traffic that kid out of the country?
Yes it’s annoying, and ten thousand people will only spend 5 seconds looking around them, but that’s a lot of eyes, in every direction, and with no warning for them to hide.
