Thanks for this, I also have been using andOTP for years (and before that its earlier fork OTP Authenticator), didn’t realize its development went dormant too.

Win at what? The Pied Piper team might win if they were competing with the Switch Pitch Ball (always blue! always blue!).
Though if you meant hacking or anything technical pretty good chance F-Society wins. Maybe Gilfoyle joins up with F-Society, he seems like he’d be into it.
I suspect it’s partly a safety / comfort thing, female drivers don’t necessarily want to be hit on or harassed by every other male passenger they pick up.
They do exist, I just assume they’re armed in case they pick up some dude that starts acting up… The one woman I personally knew that was an uber driver always had a weapon her on side of the car just in case.
To be fair your post title does not match their own text
To keep your account safe and secure, in February 2025, Bitwarden will require additional verification for users who do not use two-step login.
So it’s not all accounts, just the ones that don’t already have 2FA. Personally I wouldn’t have noticed any changes since I already use 2FA enabled with an authenticator app. But I can see how this might bite you in the ass if you weren’t already using 2FA.
Interestingly I used to run into a similar issue when using Lastpass. When logging in from other IP addresses they would often do mandatory email 2FA, and of course I couldn’t get into the email account without Lastpass. But it sort of resolved itself since I also have email on my phone so I just had to make sure those Lastpass emails didn’t end up in spam or wherever.
I have photic sneeze reflex aka sudden exposure to bright light tends to make me sneeze. Usually happens if I’ve been indoors for a while and then walk out into a bright sunny day.
For a long time never really thought about it, just figured it was a normal thing. Wasn’t until adulthood that I started noticing most people don’t do that and looked it up. If Wikipedia is correct 18% - 35% of the world’s population has that condition.
That’s not normal. Not trying to sound harsh but most likely your dad doesn’t know what he’s doing / has no money to properly maintain or fix/replace the heating system you’re using now. Not sure what type of system you guys use but generally speaking well maintained heating systems do need some maintenance every year to keep them running efficiently. Usually the household does that sort of work in the fall/early winter.
Or maybe your dad is such a penny pincher that they think $2500 or the $ for proper yearly maintenance is more money vs using space heaters. That kind of thinking is a bit silly since usually the electric bills you accumulate year over year running space heaters in every room adds up to way more than just fixing the heating system properly.
If they’ve been dead for a while then the body is going to be quite decayed so that unfortunate person would end up dying again immediately.
Unless you’re suggesting this thing that came to life is no longer human. So in that case decayed body/flesh, missing organs/bodyparts, etc. no longer prevent it from “life”. But I’d argue that isn’t a human coming back to life, more like a corpse transforming into something else.
That’s a fun fact. Now it makes more sense that he also does voice acting on American Dad, I’d have to think he’s okay with all the violence/humor in Seth MacFarlane shows (American Dad, Family Guy, etc.) along with other “adult” animated works.
Hang them so the clothes can still air out but keep them separate from the 100% clean clothes e.g. section off part of a closet or use a different closet or rack or anything you can put clothes hangers on.
Haven’t heard of any, but I imagine something like that would be on its own Lemmy instance that may end up getting blocked by tons of other instances.
If you’re referring to watchpeopledie (?) that community migrated to their own image posting website after leaving Reddit.
For me it was eggs. My mom wasn’t that great a cook and she’d only make two types of eggs: hard boiled eggs or these sort of way way overcooked sunny side up eggs. Never liked either so grew up thinking I just don’t like eating eggs.
Later on as I got older I realized there are other egg dishes and I actually really like eggs. Scrambled eggs is pretty much my favorite breakfast. A close second is egg and cheese on a bagel.
Agreed with the other comment, the sealed oil radiator heaters are near silent (no fan) and have no trouble heating up a small/mid sized room after some time. The newer ones nowadays have a thermostat so you can set the temperature to something specific & have it heat up to that temperature.
100% / 0% / 0%
I’d probably dump Lemmy entirely if I was forced to browse All. And/or I’d be blocking half the Lemmyverse.
UPS/FedEx has sucked for a while now, rarely are they cheaper than USPS
Well yeah, USPS should be cheaper. They tend to get bailout money from the U.S. government due to operating at a loss e.g. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-approves-50-billion-postal-service-relief-bill-2022-03-08 , UPS/FedEx on the other hand just raise their rates / change services to keep their shareholders happy.
In theory if the USPS was allowed to increase rates as much as any private company then they would be as expensive, if not more, vs UPS/FedEx.
Not yet, hadn’t had a need to consider it since the desktop version does what I need & is cheap enough when on sale.
That gets me curious - is the web/online version ever on sale? Like does the Deluxe+State online version ever go on a $19.99 sale? I get the feeling those types of promotions are usually done via the online retailers (Amazon/Newegg/etc.) but could be wrong.
Nice review!
Way back I used to use TurboTax & eventually switched away from it when they started limiting how many tax returns you can complete with it (at the time I was also helping family do their taxes). It also doesn’t help that Intuit in general is a terrible company.
At the moment have settled on H&R Block Deluxe + State, usually get it for $20 whenever there’s a sales promotion at Newegg/Amazon or wherever. Not fully on Linux yet so haven’t had to think about that aspect but I assumed you could still run it via Wine or a VM running Windows. (though at that point it’s also reasonable to switch to something web based)
Talk to families of unjustified imprisoned people or to the people itself.
Do you actually know & speak to people in El Salvador? Pretty much everyone I know there (family/friends) are ecstatic that there are no more gang members running around unchecked. The country is safer now then it has been in years.
Nothing is perfect of course, poverty is still a major issue, but not having to deal with gang members every time you ride the bus, go out shopping, even just drive around, it’s a huge deal over there.
Sure I get what you’re saying but for most people there it’s been a positive development.
But since he just imprisoned everyone and their relatives, its only a temporary fix – unless he wants to imprison them for life.
True… to be honest I suspect those people are imprisoned for life. No one expects gang members to be let out of prison while Bukele is still running the country, that’s going to be something that gets revisited when/if he’s out of office. It’s a massive human rights issue but at least for now the majority of Salvadorans consider it a net positive.
The funny thing is that this article is about bitcoin & most Salvadorans don’t particularly care about that at all, it’s just kind of a headline that isn’t going to win/lose Bukele any support in the short term at least.
LOL reminds me about the bigot during the first Trump administration harassing Puerto Ricans because he claimed they are aren’t American citizens. Get ready for even more of this nonsense in the next 4 years, ugh.
