Because this, like No Kings, is supposed to be convenient and easy. Which is why it won’t work.
But I agree with you. Shut it down until it’s down.
But… people can’t handle that. They have jobs to keep, kids to feed. The short term loss to them seems worse than the chance it will get worse. They just don’t yet understand the seriousness of all of this. They don’t want to understand.
Exacly, I see on reddit so much mental gymnastics. They really believe this will magicly be all over with the midterms. Not taking in account there could be rampant interference of election results, straight up denial of its validation and investigate (that will never happen) or straight up cancel them.
They don’t think about ‘what do we do if this perp, that doesn’t follow the rules, does not follow the rules’
It is mind boggeling. But then again, as an western european, we have been spoonfed to actually resist for our rights in a progressive manner, which may include some forms of violence (against property or verbally), just short of ceasing others existence. But knowing other frenchmen, they wouldn’t shy from that if push comes to shove. It is far from perfect. But this just would not fly here. Paris would burn to the ground and the guillotine undusted.

Protest are pretty effective, otherwise Donnie wouldn’t be trying to discredit them all the time. Take a look at Serbia in the last year, the regime is shitting his pants because a big wave of peaceful protests with a wide public support is rolling through the country.
Protests may not help in the exact moment ICE is upon you, but in the long run big peaceful protests seem to lead to more sustainable changes than riots.

Posting on social media won’t save us. Actually going out and protesting regularly https://mobilize.us/ actually does. And showed it work even with this regime.
Americans will have to change the regime entirely and you can’t do that with peaceful protest. Democrats literally hold the record for immigrant deportations, so voting ain’t fixing this either. Sorry but that’s how it is. Enjoy your march.
