It’s remarkable that they were able to load a GUI into 128K of RAM. And a 400K floppy was storage for the OS plus apps with room left over for your files. Granted, the machine had a 64K ROM containing some of the core OS functionality, but still. To get the most out of limited storage, Wozniak invented a variable-speed drive that would slow down to encode more data on the outer tracks of the floppy. They really pushed what was possible with the hardware of the day to the limits.

When i convinced my parents to finally purchase a computer for me 38 years ago i tried to get a Mac, but the computer store only had one program, and one game that would run on Mac. While the MS-DOS computer had tons and tons of games ($2 each). So we ended up with an IBM-Clone. I finally started to make the switch back in 2018. I have always wondered what path my life may have taken differently had my first computer been a Mac.
