These are abundant and cheap in the thrift stores. I’m experimenting with decoupage - drowning them in paint, perhaps coating these coasters with a layer of epoxy, collage on canvas.

I don’t understand what those two passages are supposed to represent that is happening now.

I thrift a lot of books for crafts as well. Most recently I made a tiny bookshelf and populated it with thumbprint-sized books. I made those by cutting up the yellowest books real tiny and then rebinding them. Anyway, Goodwill really is full of these books. A couple sets from me, even.

Goodwill wants $3 a book now, unless I go to the outlet (and that’s crowded). Gotta go to the non mega corp places, where books are maybe a quarter. It’s difficult to leave Goodwill with any cool spending less than $15 nowadays, but the smaller places often will mark things like art supplies, frames, and trinkets to a $1 or 0.25.

I’m trying to recontextualize the entire book, cutting out any passages I find interesting. Those wooden bits I think I’m going to make into coasters, the front half of the canvas has a bunch of more Carpathia centered passages, which are more relevant to the modern day.

It’s just funny, I had so many nightmares growing up about needing to stand up to the Antichrist, and even if I’m not really a proper believer anymore it’s difficult to see Trump as anything but.
