I have the thing and it still works. I want to make a backup of my music for my computer. Is there a way to export the music from my iPod and keep it on an external drive?
Sync to your PC via iTunes? Or copy paste the music folders and go through each one to rename the files to the actual songs. There’s probably a tool for this on the internet.

Without any software if you open the iPod in file explorer or maybe finder you can show hidden files and just copy paste them. The problem is they’re organized in whatever fuck ass way Apple organizes them and none of the names make sense.
There’s software that will extract it nicer but I can’t remember the name for the life of me.
