They’re not wrong in that casinos use statistical analysis to detect card counters, but I’m relatively confident they didn’t invent it.
They didn’t, and as others have suggested, how to come up with p value can differ depending on the experiment.
I was more hedging against someone popping up with “Actually, in ancient Mesopotamia…”
