Just a short rant about the the bad privacy and hardware freedom about my previous school that I’m sure others could also relate to.

First of all everyone was told to buy macbooks which are really expensive, have limited different hardware options (I guess it could be considered a plus) and have non existent budget options. And they have no freedom or room for fun, I can’t install or try Linux on it, no asahi doesn’t count its only one option anyway. And all that for no reason whatsoever they used to use Apple airplay but they don’t even use thay any more so they had no good reason.

The Google situation. The school used google for everything. The school website was hosted on Google cites, you had to use Gmail with an account with your first and last name tied to it. We used google classroom, google drives, google docs, google everthything. There was zero chance you could use this school with privacy and I feel alot of other schools are in the same boat.
