If this is true, there should be a 2.3 update coming

Don’t worry, you can easily squeeze 120h out of this game and then play it at least a second time. Especially with phantom liberty there are almost always two choices that lead to vastly different outcomes.

Great, I’m happy to hear it! Yeah I can see myself starting over when I finish, try out corpo or street kid.

I stopped gaming for over twenty years until I got a steam deck recently - stuff has changed so much I’m still figuring out which genres and styles I enjoy. I’m not sure what it is that makes me give up on some games after a couple of hours - and then get really into something like this. I’m still not very good, but I’m getting better and having loads of fun. I’ll definitely be getting phantom liberty too.

Currently playing nomad, I think street kid worked best for me, corpo is a little bland and nomad gets a cool car.

Every couple of years I have a dry spell, maybe start a game, play a few hours then drop it. And then a few years later I pick it back up and it’s actually a great game. I got Dishonored at release, played like 2h and then stopped, played it again five years later and it was great. I think they just weren’t the right games at the time.

Is there much difference between playing nomad, corpo, and street kid then? I wasn’t sure how much it would change what happened in the game, but I have had some interactions that seemed nomad specific. TBH, I’m a vehicle-dwelling pikey so nomad was the obvious choice for me - but I can see myself replaying this game when I’m finished, yeah maybe street kid next time. Tho I kinda fancy corpo just because it’s a role so unfamiliar to me IRL!

Funny you should mention Dishonored - that’s one of the ones I picked up on my ‘want to play’ list - like you, I played a couple of hours and didn’t get into it. TBH I think I wasn’t in the right headspace at the time but I’ll definitely return to it. I liked the style, y’know? And - I could be wrong here! - but I’ve got a feeling it was made by the ppl who did deathloop. That was one of the first games I played after my long break - I was crap at it, my reflexes are slow now I’m becoming fat and old, and I didn’t understand the language of games, you know the little inbuilt hints and ways to do things? But I put maybe 40 hours into it and I got better. It’s another one I’ll definitely return to when I’ve time. Sounds daft, but I really liked the colour scheme, all those reds, umbers, browns, y’know? And as someone who went to about a million techno parties and raves, I liked murdering a bunch of posh folks at a private island party!

Yeah I’m thinking you’re right - many of the games I gave up on just weren’t right for me at the time. Some I think just didn’t grab me and maybe won’t ever - I tried Borderlands 3 and while I liked the visual style, the game just felt a bit silly.

But yeah, there’s so much good stuff come out over all the years I missed, and more coming all the time. Can’t believe I had such a long break. I fuckin love video games, some of them are coming into their own as an art form.

There isn’t much difference. You get a different a different intro and at some point you’ll get one different quest. Besides that you get specific marked dialogue options, that sometimes can give you a different approach to the quest. And yes Dishonored was made by Arkane, the same studio that made Deathloop. Loved Deathloop, has a very cool style. The best part about taking breaks is you get to play all the good games once they fixed most of the bugs.

Nomad also gets an upgrade to Jackie’s bike if you mention his bike during The Pickup and have a bit of technical skill. With the upgraded tailpipe Jackie’s Arch becomes the best bike in the game.
