I think it was his last way to victimize the people he had abused. They get no justice, he keeps his secrets, he’s unrepentant and will not be held to account. The reiteration that he didn’t kill himself also makes him some sort of messed up marter. Betrayed by the ones he supported and helped. Rather than a cowerd he was.
