Drivers of EV's and hybrid vehicles could find themselves stranded on Vancouver Island this summer, if their cars require repairs. A newly enforced policy aboard BC Ferries means even if a car has encountered a computer glitch that's making it undriveable, tow companies can be denied boarding with them now.
The EV, owned by a Whistler couple, is essentially stuck on Vancouver Island, since there is no repair facility here to fix it, and according to Mid Island Towing, BC Ferries is refusing to let it off Vancouver Island on a tow truck.
