In a related incident, a collision took place between China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel 3104 and People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) ship 164, approximately 10.5 nautical miles east of Bajo de Masinloc. The CCG 3104, which was chasing the BRP Suluan at high speed, performed a risky maneuver from the PCG vessel’s starboard quarter, leading to the impact with the PLA Navy warship. This resulted in substantial damage to the CCG vessel’s forecastle, rendering it unseaworthy.
Following the collision, the PCG immediately offered support, including assistance with man-overboard recovery and medical aid for any injured CCG crew members. Meanwhile, the MRRV 9701 safely escorted the Filipino fishermen to a secure location, where they are now being provided with essential fuel and supplies.
I’d say “get wrecked” but you’re way ahead of me there.
Gunboat diplomacy in the 21st century. Since Xi Jinping came to power, it’s been an endless stream of criminal behaviour by the Chinese state. I miss the time of Hu Jintao.
The two guys out on the bow putting a fender out amazes me. On one hand, I admire the work ethic, on the other, what did you think that would accomplish?
You mean the north Philippine Sea?
pursuingattacking in Philippines’ own waters, aka invadingnelson.gif
Oh no… Anyway. The front fell off.
It crumpled, not fell off. Which is actually probably worse. If it’s already this weak head-on, I don’t want to know what will happen if something rams it from the side lol
True, usually the front only falls off if a wave hits it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m5qxZm_JqM
Yeah, that’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.
They took it out of the environment
Time to get out the cheese and start spreading it.
Don’t like body filler?
Deserved. Fucking morons.
The situation is really weird to me, it seems like everything they’re doing here is just pointless pseudo-battle fucking around.
At some point, someone is going to decide to teach the Chinese navy what the Russians have been learning about the safety and utility of big naval vessels in the new drone-centric meta.
Ukraine and the Philippines would make a great team.
That looks expensive.
It was made in china so it probably wasn’t expensive.
“That’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.”
Here’s some longer footage with alternate angles. Shame they cut the sound right after the collision, I wanted to hear the laughter :(
There is a video with an offer of support from the Philipino vessel after the collision.
Lol
That’ll buff right out
Bumper cars they are not
