    The sentence is a strong indication that the complimenting person wants to do some small talk.
    And is starting with a personal remark commenting on one’s appearance.

    I am a rather introvert person with some additional slight social anxiety issues.
    Wouldn’t directly interpret it as “danger”, but would definitely get uncomfortable and depending on how good I know the person also anxious.

      I hate it when people do not honour the simple human courtesy of pretending we are all invisible. Strangers should not even allow it to be known that they are aware I have an appearance to begin with. I was out running today looking absolutely wretched, and some woman who could not have been more than five years older than me addressed me as “honey!” I should have called her “ma’am” but I was too chagrined. I’m not sure that’s related but it bothers me on the same level.
