Finally watched it the other day and I still giggle thinking about a few of the gags.
And I’ve been trying to think of the last similarly funny movie. Hundreds of Beavers comes to mind, hence the mainstream studio qualifier.
Obviously, comedy is subjective so I’m sure there are some with which I’ll disagree but curious to hear your thoughts!
Comedy is in such a drought. Naked Gun was a pleasant surprise. Semi-Recently the only other ones that really stood out to me were Friendship, Weird: The Weird Al Story, D&D: Honor Among Thieves, and Game Night. Some people seemeded to enjoy Spinal Tap 2 but it didn’t really do anything for me.
coincidentally Weird with daniel radcliffe may be my actual answer. only a few years ago and very well done.
I finally caught this in a theatre this year, amazing to watch it with a hundred people all roaring (admittedly, at various times as some people remembered jokes before they happened, but that just added to the charm.)
Loaded Weapon and Top Secret are great.
Oooh, haven’t seen Loaded Weapon but fully agree on Top Secret, so I’ll have to check it out.
