I like the first sentence: “You’ve been away for two weeks on a European vacation, and …” for a dog you are the most important person in the world. Personally, I never left any of my dogs at home for such a long time. If you are planning on getting a dog, read up on their psychology in advance; dogs are complex animals with emotions very similar to humans. Leaving a child at home for such a long time is hard, but at least a child can understand your reasoning. A dog had no clue what’s going on…
I left my dog home for a week with my roommate, came back and he’d lost weight with her telling me he refused to eat for days. Never going to do that to him again.
I’ve left my dogs at kennels up to ten days.
The dog I thought would have issues at the kennel loved it there. She first had to go to daycare to be evaluated for overnight stays. She passed the test and was allowed back. When we returned to leave them for the trip she was super excited when she realized where she was. Same reaction for later visits.
We had a dog that loved his doggy daycare/camp. He’d get bummed when we were packing but in the ride there he’d get over that really fast. Couldn’t wait to get out of the car once we arrived! The only thing I didn’t like was they all got flea powdered so he’d get a bath when we returned
I would miss my dogs terribly after like 3 days. If I’m gone for two weeks, I’m taking the furry dummies with me.
I get anxious when my dog is at the vet for a routine checkup and grooming. He has her for several hours, just because, and sometimes sends me pictures, and I tear up a little bit. But I know she’s having a blast, so I’m okay.
I can’t imagine being away from her for more than these few hours. I have more separation anxiety than her, I swear. 😂
All I can think of is “but what if it’s a vacation to Australia? Or the Bahamas? Or anywhere else that’s not Europe?”
Clearly all assumptions are moot. We need further studies.
Johnny Depp tried to bring his dog to Australia without going through quarantine & immigration. We rightfully threatened to put it down unless he took his yacht and fluffed off.
Punish the human, not the dog.
Sure, normally I would agree. But Australia is one of the few landmasses without rabies. I’d trade the life of one dog to protect our native wildlife.
I didn’t know that. Lucky you.
I agree, but him causing the death of an innocent dog should be harshly punished in this scenario.
Oh, absolutely he should be punished as well, I agree.
This article sounds A.I. …
The picture looks like AI. Fucking scary as fuck.
Oh look, incisor straight into molar and weird lip lump. How about that.
Tap for spoiler
The lip is just sticking to the teeth.
Although an awkward and kinda creepy picture, it does seem legitimate, and can be traced to Getty as a real photo.

Seems like a reputable publication as far as I can tell.
Thanks for keeping an eye out, though!
