Idk if this is the right community for this conversation, but it’s been on my mind and I want to share it with someone.

In the 00’s every new thing we heard about the internet was exciting. There were new protocols, new ways to communicate, new ways to share files, new ways to find each other. Every time we heard anything new about the internet, it was always progress.

That lasted into the early teens and then things started changing. Things started stagnating. Now we’re well into the phase where every new piece of news we hear is negative. New legislations, new privacy intrusions, new restrictions, new technologies to lock content away and keep us from sharing, or seeing the content we were looking for. New ways to force ads.

At one point the Internet was my most favorite thing in the world. Now I don’t know if I even like it anymore. I certainly don’t look forward to hearing news about it. It’s sad, man. We’ve lost a lot. The mega corps took the internet from us, changed it from a million small sites that people created because they had big ideas, or were passionate about small ones, and turned it into a few enormous sites with no new ideas, no passion, just an insatiable desire for money.

We’re at the end of an era, and unlike the last 20 years of progress, I don’t think most of us will like what the next era brings.

If only you would care as much as you pretend to do.

You’re such a deeply invested cultist that you seem to believe “caring” means believing in your cult.

    SAD! trump-anguish

Yes, that’s you. Maga by spreading empty phrases. The billionaires will pay for dismantling the police state.

        spreading empty phrases

        Read the room.

You’ve written hours of empty corporate slogans. No one seems to be interested in buying into it, which is fortunate because your ideology is burning the planet down.

The billionaires will pay for dismantling the police state.

They made the police state and profit from it, you ignorant creep.

Read the room. It’s me who is upvoting you.

Nobody is following this track because it’s rooted in a big misunderstanding that you are unwilling to let go. The other replies to my comment are far more interesting.

You are the ignorant creep if you think that that quote was my opinion. It’s me putting your words in your mouth. But good to know that you recognize incoherence when you think it’s coming from me.

“NO U” only works as a reply if I am doing any of the things that you are doing. I am not.

Get better material or get off the stage, corpo clown.

You’re giving me nothing new to work with.

That said, it’s pretty common for techbro cultists like yourself to dehumanize anyone they disagree with and pretend they lack consciousness. hitler-detector

There are plenty of open issues that you have chosen to ignore while you enjoyed dwelling in insults. I get the hang of it but let’s not pretend that’s me who is dehumanizing.

There are plenty of open issues

“What about the profitz” is the only one you care about and is not even on my radar.

                    you have chosen to ignore

Yes, because I continue laughing at the clown even if the clown’s material could use some variety. I’d ask for balloon animals or some unicycle riding but you’d probably demand a subscription service with tracking software and a blockchain token.

                    but let’s not pretend

Gaslighting language is par for the course for techbro creeps like yourself.

                    dehumanizing

I call you a clown. You called me a chatbot program.
