Palestine is the ultimate litmus test.
When palestinians capture mostly POWs, it’s called “hostages” and “torture”. When israelis capture mostly civilians and then actually torture them, it’s called “detention”. Get your nomenclature straight!
It sounds like Zohran agrees with you, in calling the Palestinian civilians seized by Israeli aggressors “Israeli hostages”.
