If you can make a product with our without animals and it tastes the same, is it a bad thing to prefer the vegan option? I don’t tell anybody what to eat, if you like to eat meat I am fine with that.

Does it taste the same? I’ve tried Katjes and I’m pretty sure it tastes different. I will of course agree with you that for two equivalent tasting products, it’s better to prefer the vegan option even as a meat eater.

Tbh, as a vegetarian I haven’t eaten Haribo a lot in the last 10 years, rarely one of those small gift gold bear packages. I think they taste kind of boring, on the other hand they wake up childhood memories. The selection of Katjes is super large in Germany with a lot of variation. I like them a lot and don’t find them particularly better or worse than Haribo. If you find them I would say try them out!

You do you. And that’s totally okay.
As for me: I couldnt care less as long as it tastes good.

But I would also accept synthetic gelatine based gummy bears as well.
