America: invades foreign countries and kills innocent people. Liberals: it’s for a valid reason we swear!

China: has military presence just outside of its borders. Liberals: OMG guys the evil communist dictators are going to destroy the world!!

I think you got your groups a little mixed up,

America: invades foreign countries and kills innocent people.

Mentally ill warhawks: it’s for a valid reason we swear!

China: has military presence just outside of its borders.

Freedom conscious people: OMG guys the evil communist dictators are going to destroy the world!!

There’s quite a bit of overlap with these groups and liberals, but I wouldn’t say liberals in general hold these opinions.

Definitely nothing to do with oil /s

Venezuela currently ranks as the country with the largest proven oil reserves in the world. Based on recent data from multiple sources (including OPEC and various energy industry estimates), the ranking is:

    1. Venezuela (with proven reserves typically estimated at over 300 billion barrels) 2. Saudi Arabia 3. Canada (due to its vast oil sands)

Most of the boat strikes have been on open speedboats which are obviously/visually empty from going so fast, and it is physically impossible for a planing (requirement for speed) boat to just carry the fuel to travel from Venezuela to Florida.

The US is not just making zero criminal assessments in their murder, they are actively killing provably innocent people. This is objectively worse than “Gaza hospitals are sheltering Hamas babies”. International complicity, through continued alliance with US, is a cowardice problem. Nuclear strike on its aircraft carrier is an appropriate response to terminate the illusion of US naval force projection capability, but for all the US allies/citizens, baseless/pretenseless war on Venezuela is permitting same principle of bombing Canada, Greenland, Chicago. Military coup is needed in US, as constitution is shit.

The willful ignorance displayed by the pro-capitalist political groups (eg liberals, conservatives, most libertarians, and some anarchists) make it clear to me that bothering w the mask of “international law” is meaningless now as exemplified by statements like “quit talking about Gaza” or “Ukraine didn’t provoke Russia” being embraced wholesale despite proof to the contrary easily available w a single 30 second Google search away.

People make up their minds based on repetition of talking points that they get from both legacy and social media and the people who take any efforts to investigate beyond these taking points are labeled as malcontents at best and tankies at worst and doomed to watch society repeat history.

this leaves trump to do as he pleases with venezuel, gaza, iran, etc. and only the people who pay attention; whether through personal interest or a desire to dig beyond the talking points; will be the only ones aware of what’s actually happening and willfully ignored by a huge majority of people, including international bodies like the UN.

this part from the article probably says it better:

Joe Biden justified bombing Yemen to the public by saying it needed to preserve “product shipping times.” Trump justifies bombing Venezuela because “300 million people died of drug overdoses last year,” a number that no one finds credible, but it’s just as well, a blatantly false claim no one is perturbed by any longer.
