This meme, especially the techno song/flash video was so freaking popular. I had a friend that would watch it dozens of times a day. I swear it was the original cause of him getting into drugs. Almost certainly had some underlying serious mental stuff going on.
Millennials forget this stuff and then complain about brain rot and 6 7.
I recall all too well the stupid shit my friends and I thought were funny, so I give my kids the grace to enjoy their current stupid shit. Besides, I can kill it any time by fully embracing it. Nothing kiils coolness like parents/old people joining in.
There was a downtempo version of the song with more inflected voiceovers, around 2001 or 2002. I lost the video in a hard drive crash. If anyone happens to have this version, would they care to share?
I had that version and I was sure that I still had it, but of course I can’t find it. I’ll save your name and msg you if I find it.

Until I read this, I would have sworn this is a meme because it was a cheat code on age of empires 2.
? It is a meme. That’s literally what the first sentence of the article is saying
Yeah I’m saying I didn’t know and learned from the article. It blows my mind that there are pre internet memes. X)
The word meme itself is a neologism coined by Richard Dawkins, originating from his 1976 book The Selfish Gene.[14]

And he just named the phenomenon which probably exists since there are humans (and probably among other animals as well).
Fairytales and folklore songs are memes.
Schoolyard clapping games are memes.
Wearing the baseball hat backwards is meme.
Well it was a post internet meme. It was just a meme of something that happened pre internet… Pre internet in the sense that most people didn’t know what the internet was yet, anyhow. It was a thing. Just not a thing regular people were using, yet.
The term Meme was first coined in the '70s. And even then it’s taken from a ancient Greek word
