The EU has agreed allow certain foods altered using genetic engineering techniques to be sold without special labeling under a new framework. The rules distinguish between NGTs and GMOs.

    great, these patents will introduce lawsuits like in the US, no matter the provisions included about naturally occurring changes. Farmers whose crops cross-pollinate with patented crop varieties will get sued anyway and bayer’s horde of lawyers will intimidate and financially drain anyone opposing their patented seeds.

      I think for many people, myself at least, the issue is not anything health-related. It’s just one word: Monsanto.

      GMOs are cool, but being unable to gather the seeds from the crops and use them next year really isn’t.
