Making stuff up about a problem other people have quipped sarcastically about?

Has it gotten better? Debatable. It’s simply less common now that he’s out of the news cycle but I myself have been banned for posting an image of the bat signal with a Green L in it (on an account whos server closed down).

Someone literally called Luigi Mangione a hero in that thread and doesn’t appear to be banned? Like I said, it can’t be ruled out entirely because anyone can spin up an instance and moderate it how they wish. But some random asshole doing that on one instance that is apparently shut down is hardly a fediverse-wide problem.

I can’t find anything about you in the modlog. I remember the first day they tried to kind of handle it but the community quickly made it known we wouldn’t stand for it.

I routinely make calls to violence against billionaires and their ilk tbh, some of them aren’t very subtle. I’ve only had one comment removed from what I remember. They even donated the 50$ bucks I won because of the Lemmy silver event to Luigi’s defence fund on my behalf.

I’ve posted the Luigi saint picture and the Batman picture. I’ve celebrated Thompson’s death as well as Kirk’s and lamented how trump didn’t get his because of an inch of difference.

Whatever happened to your comment is the exception, not the rule. When a Luigi thread used to hit all on Reddit, 90% of the top comments would be deleted. It’s not even comparable.

I haven’t been on Reddit in years. You’re right that it isn’t compatible if your description is accurate. On Lemmy it isn’t bots deleting everything Luigi like on reddit, it is many communities punishing tacit approval of his alleged actions. By now most have found the safe spaces imo which is why they say there is no problem.
