This is great but I wish people would go after all these other companies spying on you with way more sensitive information as they are with Flock.
It’s a lot easier to convince a finite group of people to reject a surveillance tool paid for with tax dollars than it is to convince billions of individuals to leave services that they pay nothing for.
As someone in one of the municipalities that recently kicked out flock, the fight has been going on for years. But only recently, with the threat of Trump’s fascism, did most of my neighbors stand up and take notice of the dangers it posed.
It’s amazing how many people are unable to see what can happen when the shoe changes feet.
+1 for sheer clarity
About damn time. We need blanket bans against License Plate readers in this country but I’ll settle for at the State level and I’ll accept pushing back at the municipal level as good practice.
The tech is way scarier than license plate readers. It literally performs analysis on every detail of a vehicle.
Then I’m even more committed to banning it. Maybe we can decriminalize vandalizing cameras.
How do you mean?
