I’ve learned americans call all sorts of nature things really silly sounding names; “Roly-poly” is a dessert in britain but describes a woodlouse in america. They don’t even roll?? “Gumball” must mean the chestnut things in the image. I wouldn’t describe any part of them as gummy.
