One of the few surviving photos were famously taken and smuggled out by Jeff Widener Charlie Cole. He hid his negatives in the tank of his toilet, which prevented the CCP finding them. Stuart Franklin hid his photo in a box of tea to smuggle it out

The explanation that Tank Man escaped is suspicious, because it’s widely agreed the CCP made him disappear
