Body dysmorphia is a mental illness and you’re saying that people getting plastic surgery to look younger and people getting surgery to affirm their gender are doing the same thing.

And I’m not disagreeing. I think that gender dysphoria is a subset of body dysmorphic disorder. It just happens that the treatment is hormones and corrective surgery. It’s just not a take I expect to see on Lemmy.
