Look I get it, it’s not like I can’t see it happening in Europe right now too. And it’s not like I know the answer on how to combat the right most effectively. Argueing amongst ourselves on the best approach or even feeling left out so much you choose to stay in between the collective left and the extreme right has however not helped us at all. If anything we are where we are because we keep infantilising or villainizing those we don’t agree with on specific subjects while we forget that there are plenty that not only disagree with on the way we want democracy to play out, but on the “if”.

Keep argueing and discussing on matters but never lose sight of the fact that you both want the best for your country and its people and ylu certainly want to keep the basic rights and democracy. Maybe you cannot agree on much, but keep in mind that you are in agreement on the most fundamental of all matters, you are democrats (not in the party way).
