The company I work at emphasizes the up front contract in both internal and external communications.
“Hi, I need X minutes of your time to discuss Y. I intend for us to reach a decision/decide the next step next step/get your approval by the end of the call. Are you available at this date & time? Thanks!”
This is a way bigger faux pas than an ignorable “hi” in my books. We’ve got tools for organizing a meeting. You can check my availability alongside everyone else’s, so we don’t spend three hours playing Calendar Battleships.
Even if it’s just the two of us, don’t ask me to check my calendar because you can’t be bothered to.

This was a generic version to get the point across, subject to a lot of factors. The meeting timing aspect is for the external facing comms.
I feel like that’s more nutballs than just saying hi with no information …
It’s literally a meeting invite… Just send a meeting invite.
