    Disagree.

    Beavis and Butthead or Dumb and Dumber were both entertainment similar to Idiocracy.
    All intended to make the insecure about their own intelligence feel smart about themselves.

    But like Idiocracy, I don’t see Sagan challenging a broken system. Not politically nor cosmologically, which he could have for both.

      Beavis and Butthead was dumb because it was a critique on America’s youth. No one was competent enough to help those kids.

      Buzzkill just screamed at them. Van Dressen just kumbaya’d. McVicker just suspended or expelled them. They lived alone with no apparent adult presence. Their neighbors maybe tried a little, but mostly Tom Anderson was just kinda baffled.

      The adults were already all fucking idiots and that’s why Beavis and Butthead were.
