But that doesn’t mean they actually raised taxes or did anything to solve the budget shortfall that the retirement change was for. That’s just kicking the can down the road.
They protested endlessly, and got… Nothing. Peanuts.
Macron has the government that used the most by very, very far the 49.3 article which is basically a pass to ignore the democratic process. He said quite clearly that democracy has no power against him and it is proven true.
The fascism in France is just less… frontal, than in the US, but it is there and those little protests, as long as they last, won’t change anything.
let’s see: macron didn’t send terrorists to kill french people on open street ✅
damn, french people seem to be so good at reminding their leaders how they check power that their leaders don’t try that shit…
maybe american people need to chop some heads with the ol headchopper
They are one or two elections away from an RN president. RN already is the largest party in the assemblée nationale and the “centrists” don’t want to work with the NFP so there exists no clear majority anymore.
disclaimer: this comment is wrong because i misread a table. it’s 33,5 kills per 10mio in the usa and 5 kills per 10mio in france
true, but not a good comparison, because i wasn’t talking about the police but ICE.
if i was talking about the police however we we still talking about 1000 out of every million inhabitants in the usa killed by the police; in france, 37. yes: france has a problem with police brutality - but what does that say about the usa?
These numbers are easily found and already bad enough, why make absurd ones up instead? OP misread
There were 1200 police-involved deaths in the US last year, not 350,000. A huge number, 6x more than France would have had were the populations equivalent, but not anything like the population of an entire large city being gunned down yearly.
you are right, because i misread it and took the wrong column in a table. this was yearly not per million - it’s 33,5 per 10mio. in the usa against 5 per 10mio. in france.
Yeah, EU countries really, REALLY, need to check themselves. Our human frailties are their frailties too. Their shit hole populace is rising. We are evidently go to start funding the parties that will be their demise.
So far, the response to what has been happening has not met the reality of the situation. If I was to bet at this moment, then I would bet that a large part of the EU is going to fall to fascism.
Yeah because France is fine
France burned stuff because the president wanted to increase the age for retirement. Multiple times.
Who’s the exceptionalist country now?

Been there a few times, and It’s not perfect at all.
Still I’d pay to visit france while you can’t pay me to go to the usa.

The police kill people in France too. For example, El Hacen Diarra died in a police station a few days ago.

thanks for pointing it out. i edited the comment
Ah, that would explain it!
We don’t chop heads, we poke holes.
france used to
We haven’t been, and that’s the problem
Plenty of things got set on fire during the George Floyd riots. Not sure what that fixed though.
Credit where credit is due. Two homies supposedly tried, before the election.
I say supposedly because some people, including my wife…
Errr… Macaron is making sure that the nazis win and no one gives a shit
yes, we have the same problem in germany. yet we are talking about a completely different magnitude. trumps people literally are the fascists.
Yes, it’s one step away from it. And that’s when reaction is needed, not after the nazis start executing people, but yet no one cares
