Why are we still making combustion engines?
To be fair, the people that could afford this, don’t care about anything anyway
Because ICE engines are a robust platform that have pretty much been figured out with an infrastructure to match just about anywhere in the world?
Don’t get me wrong, I think batteries/fuel cells are the future, but in some places, ICE is still the only viable option for some while things catch up.
Also a lot of electric motorcycles are stupid expensive for what they are (granted, in this case we’re already talking about a company that makes expensive rides, but overall, the high costs hurt adoption).
Electric motors are way way more reliable than combustion engines. Not even comparable. It’s just the batteries. A bit too heavy still.
For motorcycles, the efficiency just isn’t there yet. The weight and range of batteries matters much more in a motorcycle form factor.
They’re good enough. My 1980 CX500C gets like 80 miles per tank and plenty of people bought them back then.
Basically the same reason people still like steam trains…
Motorbikes are used for long leisurely drives and the charging network isnt always on the same routes that make for fun biking. Charging would likely be frequent too given the mileage trips clock up.
Just 300 examples of the AMB 002 Roadster will be made, and deliveries start in the third quarter of 2027. No price has been announced.
Six figures?
Looks sick
Guess the next James Bond will be riding a bike, then.
