When I was a teenager I used to carry a pocket knife. Never used it. Even when I got mugged. (3v1 and I wasn’t about to escalate)

I heard statistics that 50% of people who carry a blade in a fight are stabbed with their own blade. Whilst it may help to actually learn how to wield it, I can never condone knife carry, and second the flashlight. I can also recommend Acebeam for a strongly built, bright torch.
IMHO if you carry a pocket knife and pull it out in the wrong moment, that can get you killed.

I cannot for the life of me find a rechargeable flashlight that doesn’t have 4 modes, the most powerful of which gets so hot the flashlight dims itself after a few seconds.
Edc flashlights are definitely useful for more than using as a light. There are end caps for most sizes that come with tungsten glassbreakers, might come in useful sometimes…
