Purely anecdotal, but I play World of Warcraft and I clocked significantly less bots farming herbs/ore around. On a more serious note, Ukraine has accomplished many things, but if they can bring down Russian propaganda bots it might be the biggest gift to the world yet.

Much like most anecdotes, it’s not really based in reality. 👍

The Ukrainians are not just gritty and resilient, inventive and brave, they sure know how to make fun at the same time. What a country!

That’s due to a lawsuit Twitter brought against them. Nothing to do with Ukranian attacks.

There are way better frontends: https://codeberg.org/shitter/shitter/wiki/Instances Here’s review of them from some privacy nerd: https://ieji.de/@Apfel/117246879381091134

Overblown verification process (Anubis). JS required. Not recommendable.

I kinda figured Anubis was one of the better verification processes? Seems preferable to Cloudflare anyway?

Both Anubis and Cloudflare require js and cookies to operate. So from privacy first perspective they are on same level:

Sadly, you must enable JavaScript to get past this challenge. This is required because AI companies have changed the social contract around how website hosting works. A no-JS solution is a work-in-progress.

Missing feature Cookies Your browser doesn’t store cookies. Anubis uses cookies to determine which clients have passed challenges by storing a signed token in a cookie. Please enable storing cookies for this domain. The names of the cookies Anubis stores may vary without notice. Cookie names and values are not part of the public API.

JavaScript and cookies required To complete the security verification required by {site}, JavaScript and cookies must be enabled on your browser.
