That’s what you get for using a proprietary Lemmy app. Switch to Thunder, it doesn’t have ads, it’s open source and in my opinion has the best UI out of all Lemmy apps. Also support the development and join their community: [email protected]
No, they don’t have access to that
China has no IP
UpperBroccoli is right
Couldn’t you do that in a VM with GPU passthrough? I use that approach for all kinds of stuff, including Gaming (with Looking Glass and SSD passthrough)
Also, some Photoshop version from 2021 runs pretty well in Wine: https://github.com/LinSoftWin/Photoshop-CC2022-Linux
Another reason to use Linux
RapidSeedbox they accept multiple crypto currencies but unfortunately no XMR, so I had to use Trocador to convert to BTC.
It’s not perfect, there are some conversion fees, but it should be ok. I use it from time to time to pay for my seedbox.
Same, but you can always use Trocador to convert your XMR to other coins. Alternatively there are some ways to anonymously acquire BTC.
Yes. The NewPipe x SponsorBlock repo is archived and there’s a message in the README saying:
Development Has Stopped
This fork is old and no longer maintained. See Tubular, a new fork of NewPipe.
BitLaunch lets you rent a VPS with crypto currency
Finally a use case where AI/Machine learning would absolutely make sense. If we can have AI that can generate text or images, imitate people’s voices or write code, we can also have a lightweight model that can detect ads and skip them during playback. There’s a model trained on SponsorBlock data for detecting sponsored segments https://github.com/xenova/sponsorblock-ml
I’m sure that we can have something similar but for embedded ads.
Airlines in America really suck, I feel like we have much better options here in Europe
Why is my neighbor receiving ads for anger management?
He probably gets aggressive when seeing too many ads

Brave apparently wants to do that, but it’s not a great long term solution. The feature should actually be supported upstream, that’s why Firefox is a much better option, and a better base for a fork to create a new browser.
AI is a cool feature, which makes a great excuse for proprietary corporations to spy on their users. I’d say it’s one of the best opportunities for an excuse of the last few decades. Only 9/11 was a better excuse to put everyone under corporate/government surveillance.
Your average Joe Schmoe probably has no idea that different operating systems
But I don’t think that these are the people buying a Framework Laptop
I tried using Jerboa and found it to be incredibly buggy and poorly designed. Not sure what’s going on there, considering that it’s the official mobile app made by the Lemmy devs
