First off, I couldn’t care less about ad blocking and I’m not here to moralise what anyone else does.
I do however think your point is somewhat undermined by the fact YouTube have an ad free option. You can legitimately make the ads disappear and YouTube have no issue with it.
Haven’t bought a TV in 12 years, out of curiosity - if you’re not using the smart features of the TV would not connecting it to the network not be the best solution?

If you’re getting a new motherboard anyway you might as well give it a go. There are some micro soldering training kits you can pick up for ~£15 to practice.

It gets closer for a bit and then gets further away again. It’d need to be a huge leapfrog for me to want to give up the ability to replace a discrete GPU with an integrated one. Probably good for the laptop crowd though.
