They buzz the top of my head if I dare step outside without more food when the feeders are low
I experience this as well. I don’t have a solution, although I am trying to use Trello to create each idea/thought as its own card. Then whenever I’m inspired/motivated to sort them into their proper place, it’s a simple drag and drop.
My consistency with this comes and goes, and I keep reorganizing my lists (the headings I group related cards under). But I lose things less than when they were scribbled on random pieces of paper.
I’m not sure on the species, it’s hard to tell the feather’s size.
FWS has a Feather Atlas. At the bottom there’s an “Identify My Feather” button that takes you through some questions and gives you a list of possibilities.
Not even all teachers can keep them. You have to have a migratory bird permit. Places like wildlife rehab and nature centers often have the permit for doing education programs.
Basically it’s because there’s no way to prove if someone just found it on the ground or they killed the bird and kept the feather, nest, eggs, etc. (hence it applies to species who can’t be hunted). So US Fish and Wildlife requires a permit for everyone.
They do love thistle. I always smile when I hear their “po-ta-to chip” call overhead.
I’m saving this for the next time someone tells me to “just do the thing.”
have you already seen a scarlet tanager or rose breasted grosbeak?
Probably somewhat depends if it was used around younger generations and the context explained to them. Sort of like how I’ve seen Flipper and Mr. Ed also become less commonly known and mentioned.
That said, my cat audibly sighs at me when he’s singing the song of his people and I ask, “What’s wrong? Did Timmy fall down the well again?”
My parents have one of these, and it drives me nuts when I visit. I understand that feature on something like an oven where it’s still cooking. But the microwave stopped. Nothing’s going to burn. So stop rushing me!
Great photos! I think cheeky sparrow Sundays should be a recurring thing
Does it usually come from the same number or numbers? If so, I’d block it/them and move on.
You tried your best to get them to at least contact her for updated information. Blocking the number(s) means you no longer see the confirmations and such. The only issue down the road would be you won’t get your own confirmations if you ever book with them and use that phone number.
please tell me Belligerent Botanist is the channel name
“It’s just 3 things, plus that other one that happens on the way to #2 anyway, no need to write a list”
I struggle with this as well. Sometimes I let myself go into what I call “if you give a mouse a cookie” mode and do the things as they pop into my mind instead of following the list. It’s nice to not have to spend energy trying to keep my brain on task.
But usually I try to stick to my list. Things get on the list because either there’s an imminent deadline or it’s been bothering me and taking up too much of my mental bandwidth.
I’m guessing they mean dextroamphetamine
I spent probably 10 seconds looking for the feline in the bottom left before the light bulb went off
I kept thinking “don’t do it, you’ll hit the ceiling” while she was planning, but she obviously knows her limits much better because she made it look easy
I always write myself a list of things to do in a day that’s so long I’d never get all of them done in a year. Yet the next time I make my to do list it’s just as long.
I’m trying to switch to making a “brain dump” list and then pick 3 things from there as my “to do.” It’s really hard to stick to my limit of 3. And if I get one done to I find I want to add a new thing so items 3 again, but that defeats the purpose of the limit.
Same. And P A R K. Currently we “marche” and visit the “DP.” Not sure yet what we’ll use when he figures those out.
