I hope those memories are great. Dan might no longer be with you or his family, but the memory lives on, cherish that. Be someone else’s Dan, too, there is always time :)
Just your typical internet guy with questionable humor

the CD didn’t survive either :/

Thanks for taking them o7

Fuck me, I want to experience the game with all that hardware!

If you want to feel like a big, stompy, slow robot, there aren’t many choices besides Mechwarrior 5. Armored Core also features big robots, but they’re considerably more agile - they’re gundams, if you will.
Vox Machinae seems to be very close in spirit to Mechwarrior style. Also supports VR.
Front Mission games are turn based tactical RPGs and you can customize your mechs a lot.
EDF (Earth Defense Force) 4, 5 and 6 has some mechs you can bring and pilot in some missions, though it’s not the focus of the game.

Original Character, do not steal

Zero aliens in battletech universe tho

CD’s busted beyond repair, i’m afraid

The car is 21, bought it used 9 years ago. No, sadly i never had that video card

I did have to verify integrity of the game more than once, so kinda like reinstalling rather than uninstalling

I don’t play many UE5 games, never had problems with Pseudoregalia or Outpost Infinity Siege, the latter being really heavy on resources.
I also thought Palworld was still on UE4? What’s the fix
“They don’t have anything for hypergrowth anymore. They don’t have the next iphone, the next google search, they don’t have anything, they’re completely out of ideas” - Ed Zitron

Happens to me sometimes with Palworld. Playing nice, suddenly a crash. Restart, crash after loading the save. Restart again, freezes while loading. Restart PC, boot game, crash after loading. Restore older save file, crash.

Back when it got momentum, I was one of the idiots who got sucked into it because of “lol, let’s hate watch it” and actually enjoyed it up to a point (S5, I think? First season after Twilight became princess). Season openings and finales were usually the best episodes, taking the cast out of slice of life situations and dropping them into dangerous adventures.
I wrote some fanfiction that never saw the light of day - thankfully for me and anyone who would end up reading it

Playing a MOBA-like boardgame is possibly the best option because, face to face, people aren’t as likely to be assholes and trolls, even with people they never saw before and might never see again.
Guards of Atlantis (or its sequel) and Skytear (or Onward, its sequel) might be worth checking, for anyone interested

League of Legends, Star Wars. If we travel some years back in time, World of Warcraft, though it has been dying down thanks to a steady decline of players

The solution is for everyone to migrate to Jami, which is obviously the better option!

Turbo porn, obviously

Even with graphics, you can simply compare the performance and colors of what you had back in the 90s with the bloated bullshit of today - the only exception being video, stuff today much better compressed with low quality loss. On the other hand, electron.
4k definition in screens below 16" is wasteful beyond belief.
bUt iT’s eLegANt!!!
I also remember when the fucking reset button was quietly removed, first from videogames, then computers, then cell phones, because “software is getting better, it won’t crash and freeze everything so you no longer need to reset”. Then the power button went from being a switch to a piece of shit
