  • Can we have a little bit of Islam, as a treat?

    The issue is that there is still going to be a large number of fundies pushing the extreme and looking to set up a theocracy. Many of the average followers are not going to push back because they still view it as good by definition.

    We see this in the ME and in the west with Christians eroding secular society. I don’t want to be anti thiesit, but that’s a risk all religions bring.




  • For real. I was not walking around with a libertarian chip on my shoulder. I had moved away from it, but seeing real jobs really changed that. My “public” jobs at the university had me reporting and recording a lot of what I did. Keeping track of grant money was a pretty serious deal. Having a job later in the private sector you can slack off a lot more. Pretty much every lazy government worker stereotype was there and kind of magnified. Every now and then I notice something else that is in conflict with the idea that unregulated capitalism is a good ideal.
