I was an adult when touch screens properly took off, and I doubt this is in the same league.
There was some practical purpose to touch screens, whereas this thing is just unnecessary. I doubt it would have the same effect.

I pick the category 'Things no one Asked For", for $25 Mr. Trebek.
This article has completely missed a selling point of e-readers for people like myself: no constant refreshing.
My eye strain, when reading for a long time, doesn’t come from the light (or lack thereof), which is evident as a positive of backlit Kindles and other e-readers, though the constant flicker of screens. E-ink solves this issue perfectly, and with every device in that article mentioning “60Hz” on their alternatives I feel as though they’ve missed a big point of having an e-reader and what exactly constitutes as “paper like” (it’s a lot more than just “low/no backlight”).
You’ve been through a fair bit! Sounds like you have built a strong perspective. Your family sounds rather loving.
I’m sorry to read you were treated so poorly during your treatment. I hope you are in a better situation, if not now then in the near future.
Maybe they mean Terminator. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is working another job now, the economy is rough.
The title makes it sound like the FAA told SpaceX to go to their room, for being very naughty.
How could American politicians be so against pornography, when so many keep getting caught with prostitutes?
Typical. Rules for thee I guess.
Different people feel comfortable with different names. For a while, and still today, many people refer to it as High Functioning Autism however many people find offense in using that term for themselves.
At the end of the day it is an autism diagnosis, and simply saying Autism often works fine. Most of the time I say I have Autism as it makes things easier for others if I don’t go on long explanations. For what it’s worth I was diagnosed as having Asperger’s Syndrome many years ago (in 2004), however I personally find no offense in the term ‘high functioning autism’ though only because it fits my own self.
I remember when all of my friends would laugh at the iPod Nano, when it released as being super thin, due to all the people accidentally sitting on them or other easy ways in which they broke.
I would prefer it if manufacturers made phones with smaller screens, so I can actually use it with one hand without some janky workaround (like right/left handed modes on Google Keyboard).
Politics aside, im interested in how this will predict my gender. Many people mistake me for a woman, from text, and I have been unsure as to why. I’m intrigued to see what this would predict, for me.
Just wanted to give a tip, from someone who is happy with his Fire Stick: hold down the home button, on the remote, for an ad-free app drawer thing.
I usually just hold the Home button and select the app I want. Works fine if not a minor inconvenience to do when launching the device.
For the people in the comments not in the know: Rossmann is a respected voice for this sort of thing, even if this post looks like an ad. He’s not one of the bad ones (yet).
I know this may sound like a joke, but ChatGPT is sometimes nicer than real people.
I’ve not had a conversation, I wouldn’t see the point at this moment, however I’ve had some friendly interactions when asking for help. The other day I asked ChatGPT what exercises would be good for a specific area of mental health. After the results, I said “thank you” and the response wasn’t just ‘youre welcome’, it remembered the conversation and added things like, “no problem, I hope your mental health improves and all the best!” (Heavily paraphrasing here).
It’s strange, though the premise of HER isn’t too far off I think. If someone like myself is finding the interactions to be more pleasing than real life, the future may very well hold the possibility for advanced relationships with AI. I don’t see it being too farfetched, just look at how far we’ve already come in only a few years.
I’m just saying I don’t think the market is going to be big enough for these models to even get close to emptying shelves. Maybe it’s not the right time, I don’t know, I’m just finding it difficult to see any use where people would find it more appealing than the form factors and devices they already have.
