From the user’s standpoint yes. From site operator standpoint, no.

Worse than worthless traffic. Hoards of content locusts descend on your site, ad blockers up, fuck over your server, provide 0 ad clicks/conversions and leave you -$10 profit.

Edit: downvotes do not surprise me, why would a selfish user ever consider what they’re taking from someone else? After all, they need to be entertained! After 2 years of our site getting completely flooded, I eventually redirected stumble upon traffic. Like I said, worse than useless, actively damaging to the site and spoiling the experience for the positive users.

I tried that with “irony”. People don’t give a fuck, they just want to randomly use words to seem smart.

One of my policies to make this place less insufferable, is to block people who behave in ways that I object to.

For example if somebody shows up in a Windows thread, and just types in “Linux!” I’m blocking that person. Add something germane or novel or fuck right the fuck off, that’s my attitude.

I remember reading about this in slashdot back in the day. It fooled a lot of people! I wish like anything I could find the original article(s) where it was being presented totally kayfabe.

These are all well known and well documented problems

Where are the options for:

• Make screen not randomly hang, filled with ghost images and artifacts
• Have phone actually give notifications when they arrive
• Respect battery charge settings
• Have app-switcher not randomly stop accepting swipe inputs

I typed in “free text” into my app store and then installed. When I created an account with a fake email, I got to choose from a rotating batch of free local numbers. They expire if you don’t use it frequently. Also they bombard you with ads.

I have a free texting app which I use for dating, because I don’t want crazy women to have my real number up front.
