What’s funny is that both sides of the political spectrum are going to think this is targeting them. When in reality it’s more than likely only going to be used to squash misinformation.

Instances are brilliant. I’m a Lemmy.ca account, and being able to filter by “local” and suddenly all my content is Canadian focused is fantastic.
On of my biggest issues with reddit was how american focused all of the global news subs were, if you wanted Canadian content you needed to be subbed to Canadian news subs. But since im a .ca Lemmy, my local tab puts a Canadian spin on the same Lemmy!
