If you want a true successor, switch to 1337x. They have a better selection of torrents, and an active community that both the users and uploaders participate in. Just like the old Pirate Bay. Current PB is a shell of its former self. It isn’t even been run by the same people anymore, and it shows.

That was my biggest issue with the hack as well. America was never great.

I don’t use a Mac but can’t you just block the app from accessing the internet in your firewall? MacOS has a firewall, right?

Yup, you’re the only one. I’ve been on USB-C for five years now. Just gotta replace my cannabis vape, and I’ll be free of Micro-USB for good. Even a good portion of my PC peripherals use USB-C now. I’d ditch USB-A entirely if I could but unfortunately my motherboard only has 4 C ports*.
