I refuse to say “Canada Goose” as much as I’d refuse to say “Ireland Stew” or “Mexico Standoff” or “the America Association of Birders can go fuck themselves”

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•If you are a guy living with a woman you know THIS
7·8 months agoWith the time you save by leaving the seat up, build her a vanity in the bedroom. A couple of Ikea drawers, a standalone desk top, a large freestanding mirror, and some LED strip lights. It’s a fun project and you will both love it. Also put the seat and lid down, that’s nasty

4·1 year agoI’m pretty sure the portals spawn at set locations, and there are great spots for bases that monsters can’t access at all (except for one creepy guy). There’s a great spot in a little upstairs area right by the elevator in the offices.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I can't believe my dad's already almost 36
1·2 years agoAll the math is weird. 36yr from 2025 is 13149 days = 315576 hr = 18934560 min = 1136073600 sec. But maybe they’re saying there’s still 16:44:25 left until their actual birthday?

What is this thing?@lemmy.world•[Challenge Solved] Weird assembly — I think this will be a hard one :)English
2·2 years agoLooks like a gear ratchet. Slope on the left piece allows a gear to rotate in one direction. Clamp on a bar on the right allows the assembly to be lifted to allow the gear to rotate in the other direction as well. Like a sort of gear brake?

politics @lemmy.world•Inside UnitedHealth’s Playbook for Limiting Mental Health Coverage — ProPublica [Nov 19]
5·2 years agoThe part that immediately got me was the clinician hiring a biller to dispute the $20k payback, only for it to be reduced to $10k. They probably paid the biller almost $10k to get the documentation together. For smaller paybacks, the clinic would probably be taking a loss to dispute the charge even if it gets stopped completely. As long as the insurer can provide justification for the charge, there’s basically no way to punish them for doing this, even when the insurer knows the original payment was legit.

231·2 years agoNo, what an utterly ridiculous lie to spread. She would never get “Korean bbq” tattooed on her hand, she’s a multimillionaire with tons of resources at her disposal to prevent a silly mistake like that. Instead, she got “small charcoal grill” instead of “seven rings”. But don’t worry, she got it fixed apparently, so it instead correctly read … “small charcoal finger grill”.
