The only window management software I run is Windowmizer, which both shows my age and disdain for Job’s design prejudices. I used Unsanity’s haxie before that.
My main’s on X.13.06, so that won’t be an issue, will give them a whirl. 👍🏻

I experience the same behavior and have found no system setting to alter it either. Maybe there’s a terminal or plist hack, but thru the UI, no.
Here’s my work around.
Non-dominant hand toggles window from the keyboard, dominant hand clicks.

That’s exactly how I use it. The batch functions are killer and don’t neglect installing the full panoply of plugins, those make it the Swiss Army knife of viewers.
Also, the dev is a true prince, personally answered a question I had a decade ago and it was an awesome interchange.
Awesome! I’ll have to look into it, nothing’s come close to IrfanView on the Mac side previously.
Maybe a third party app like iMazing would be easier. I’ve used it for years now, SO much easier to deal with than iTunes.

Have been given a current Surface Pro laptop for work and must use an external mouse, or rage in frustration that my 13 yo MBP has a better functioning trackpad.
